So. Are we all being good little thumber-uppers?
Take a chance.
A few things I have learnt from SU's new similarity meter --. I share an interest in space exploration with Judefa, have the same taste in adult humor as the young 13andbored and share a passion for nude art with myself. Which is nonsense.

Last night I watched To Kill a Mockingbird, the brilliant story of a white man struggling to defend a gentle Negro accused of raping a white girl. It was set in the southern States in the 1930s.
The case is lost and the boy sentenced to death by a jury of ignorant, racist idiots, even though the trial leaves no doubt that he is innocent. These poor gentle people are so beautiful and the whites so ignorant and bigoted I'd be ashamed to be one in the States.

My friend Rud's been raided. He came in to work tonight still shaking. The cops turned his room upside down but found nothing.
A fine doesn't matter but prison -- shit.

His friend Eve has gone completely crazy -- not far-out even, just queer as hell. You can't talk to her, even. She doesn't answer; just laughs.
She wore tramping boots painted light blue with flowers on them to a party the other night -- looked a bloody freak.

It's 3.30am -- that gives me five hours' sleep before I have to be at work again.

One thing for advice -- never love a surfer if you can help it. It's not fair to either of you and very rarely works.

The university and medical associations have presented submissions for the legalisation of pot. Legalisation is bound to come but I wonder how long it's going to take for the pigs to succumb.

We must try and educate them gently. Whatever our feelings are, we'll have to keep our cool.
There was a step in the right direction the other day with the Government allowing a contraceptive vending machine at Canterbury University. Two years ago it wouldn't have got through; now the prime minister is "past caring".
But the over-21s spend their lives getting rotten and even turning alcoholic, chain smoking, taking sleeping pills and being disgusted with youth.
They're so misinformed.

This is bloody ridiculous, you know. I've just got home from work and in exactly six hours I'll be out in the elements for another day's work, with no break.

My only meal today was a pie -- the rest was cake, chocolates and smokes. I feel like a rubbish bin.
My friend Barry's been busted for acid. Rick went to the peace meeting tonight and Carol was in the march.
 Tks Spygirly
I went into work today, sat down and lit a smoke. Sam walked in, fanned the air, said how smoky the air was and that he smelt "marijuana".
My boss Oz's ears pricked up and he asked Sam: "What made you say that?"
Sam just meant it as a joke but Oz said "Interesting to hear you say that after what we've just been discussing." He sat down beside me, watched me for a while then said: "What do you know about 'marijuana'?" I replied "not much, why?"
Then followed a barrage of questions about my involvement with pot and drugs in general. I told him I had not been on it here but that he had to accept the fact that it's everywhere.
He then warned me that investigations were being made.
I talked to Carol and she said the management was concerned cos she was in the peace march. When I returned from tea my workmates bombarded me with "We hear you're on pot!".

But those idiots revealed that they don't even know the difference between pot and acid, let alone what to do with them, with their ridiculous questions and remarks. You can't even start to tell them.
By the way, "pot" may refer to:
- A container for growing plants
- Cooking pot
- Pot, cannabis; Marijuana
- Chamber pot
- Pol Pot
- Pot (poker)
- Pot haircut
- Prince of Tennis, a Japanese manga and anime.
- Microsoft PowerPoint template
- Portable Object Template
- Post Office Tower in Central London
- Pot glass, a kind of beer glass

If I was a real pot smoker I'd be hanging out with this devotee of weed. But actually I'm not, Mum. I prefer bacardi and a packet of Rothman's.

What would
 Jesus smoke?

And what exactly would Revilo be smoking, eh?

As for you, Red, you're just a bad influence, man. How could a girl resist?

The 10 Avatars
of Lord Vishnu

So what is an Avatar?
According to this introduction, it is
- a new personification of a familiar idea
- "the embodiment of hope"
- "the incarnation of evil" (ie, a descent into mortal realms)
- "the very avatar of cunning"
and in particular,
the manifestation of a Hindu deity (especially Vishnu) in human or superhuman or animal form.
The Buddha, eg, is an avatar of Vishnu.
